Step 1
Connect Usb Tricks
USB size must be 64gb with FAT32 format if map style is PREMIUM, if map style is NEXT then usb size must be 64gb with exfat format, if MAP Styles are EVO, ROUTE, WAY then usb size can be 32/64 gb but usb format must be exfat. Connect usb in the car according to the email instructions. The screen will automatically prompt for next step.
Step 2
Start update procedure
Use the iDrive Controller to select and activate the “Start update” option on the display.

Confirm Code

Update Procedure
The map data will now be updated as you continue driving. Your navigation system’s basic functions continue to operate normally during this procedure. Please leave the USB stick inserted until the end of the update process.

How to Update Your BMW Navigation System: Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Prepare Your USB Drive
USB Size & Format Requirements:
- For premium required USB size is 32 GB with fat32
- For Next USB size must be 64 GB with Fat32
- For Evo, Route & Way maps USB size is 32 with Fat32 format
Connect USB: Insert the prepared USB into your car’s port as instructed in your email. The system will automatically detect the USB and you for the next step.
Step 2: Start the Update Procedure
- Use your car’s iDrive Controller to select the Start update option on the display screen.
Step 3: Enter the FSC Code
- Enter the 20-digit FSC Code provided by Bimmer Navigation using the iDrive Controller.
Step 4: Confirm the Code
- After entering the code, select OK to confirm. This will activate the map update process.
Step 5: Let the Update Run
- The system will begin updating the map data.
- During this time:
- The navigation system remains functional.
- Leave the USB inserted until the process is complete.
Step 6: Update Completion
- The update takes 30 to 40 minutes.
- Once completed, the system will automatically reboot, confirming that the update was successful.
