How to Check Your Map Version

Between ordering, ensure that your system is running the EVO map. BMW and MINI follow the same steps:
1. Press your Controller ‘NAV’ button.
2. Select ‘Settings’ (or ‘Options’).
3. Choose the position and version, version information.
4. Find one beginning with Road Map [Region] EVO (e.g. Road Map Europe EVO 2018-4).

(If it says “WAY”, you need the EntryNav2 product. If it says “LIVE“, you need the MGU product.)

What is the difference between ID5 and ID6?

ID5 has smaller menu tiles. ID6 has larger “Live” tiles. Both systems run on the exact same hardware and use the exact same Road Map EVO file. This product works for both.

Will this remove my Apple CarPlay?

No. Updating the map data is completely separate from your CarPlay activation. Your CarPlay will continue to work exactly as before.

My car is a 2016 model. Do I have ID4 or ID5?

2016 was the transition year. If your main menu has a vertical list, it is ID4. If it has horizontal tiles, it is ID5. Our VIN check verifies this automatically to ensure compatibility.
